Length of user name

How can I reduce the length of the user name in the friend list?
Instead of full name "Lupopa Grau @ grid.lupopas-welt.de"
e.g. "Lupopa Grau...."

If u mean mod_opensimfriends, there is also a setting: "Max. Length of names" ... this will cut the name after X characters and add ... to it

@Lupopa: I made a little patch to cut hg usernames but i can't test it because i don't have hg grid up ...
Can you test it for me please ?

Usage: Put the file "default.php" provided in this patch in "tmpl" frontend directory of jOpenSimFriends module.
(modules > mod_opensim_friends > tmpl).

I dont think it is a good idea just to cut the @* part in the friends module.

Theoretically u can have a friend firstname.lastname@local but also a friend firstname.lastname@othergrid.

What would tell u who is who if the rest is cut?

Sure, sometimes it is due to layout reasons required to keep the name shorter as it actually is, but this feature is already there

As a precaution I will remove this patch while waiting for a more effective solution.
