Confusion about user login

I have been using the component JOpenSim for some time but I am still unclear how I can allow existing users who were on OpenSim (prior to the component being added) to log in via joomla to their profile.

The OpenSim -> Joomla button appears to only bind an existing OS account to an existing Joomla account.

Is there a way to either create joomla accounts for the OS users that already exist or, a way for existing OS users to log in to their profile via the website but not need a joomla account?

the only solution is to register users only on the site èd once registered go to the jopensim control panel register users and associate them one by one with their Opensim user
