Problem with secondinventory

11 years 4 weeks ago #2030 by luigitarallo
A member of my grid has encountered problems when importing objects with secondinventory, the skin and eyes as if they are imported shape, this problem also found in jopensim the world, ask of you is a problem due to jopensim? In other grids that do not use jopensim, was not found to the same problem. From what could be the problem? Thank you Louis.

Hi Luigi

I'm not sure if this got to do something with it, but I encountered also other scripting related problems in grid lately due to locale settings on my Linux servers (e.g. de-AT.UTF-8 for LC_NUMERIC). Changing this to en-US.UTF-8 solved at least the scripting issues.

I did not have the chance to get feedback from SI users if this would solve that issue as well, but I would not be surprised if this has got something to do with it as well. I hope I soon will get some feedback to post here more.

Hi Luigi

This is no issue related to the database and just peripherally to OpenSimulator istself, rather to the operating system.

E.g. on a Linux system, you can see with the shell command "printenv" your enviroment vairables. If you see there any language related variable (such as LANG, LC_NUMERIC, LC_COLLATE or similar) NOT having a value starting with en_*, then it might be worth a try to change this.
