It seems like most things are working except the two most important Users and Maps.
Could not connect to OpenSim database! Please check your settings.
        Could not connect to OpenSim Grid database! Please check your settings.

All of the tables loaded into my Joomla database. It should use the same information to connect. Right?

I checked with HostGator and this is what they said;

Host name = (use the server IP address)
Database name = (cpanelUsername_databaseName)
Database username = (cpanelUsername_databaseUsername)
Database password = (whatever you picked)
MySQL Connection Port = 3306
TCP or UDP, either is fine.

I also had Online Support check to see if the server blocks port 3306 inbound. They tell me it's open.

I think I have it set so it can connect with the database but ow this error is showing up in the Control Panel Page;
Warning: mysql_num_rows(): supplied argument is not a valid MySQL result resource in /home/vsouther/public_html/libraries/joomla/database/database/mysql.php on line 293

Can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong?

:oops: As the title of this thread implies, I am ignorant... I thought it installed OpenSim on the Joomla site. It does not, some how I read right past that on the description on the Joomla Extensions page.

:blush: My apologies for wasting anyone's time...

Hi vernsouthern

Never mind :) for my part I think it is (almost) impossible to post a stupid question, but easy to post stupid answers ;)

For me it was always so logical, that I never thought of pointing this out specially ... I sure will express this in the readme of the next version a bit clearer: Joomla AND OpenSim must be installed already for jOpenSim to work. Maybe also this topic now will help others to avoid spending time searching for things in jOpenSim that are not present.
