Jopensim error... Remote IP No Access error..

12 years 1 month ago #1685 by tadavis
Hi.. Finally got my Internet connection problem fixed. But I came across one more off thing.. I am unable to access profiles, offline messages and groups because of this RemoteIP error.. I did a little research and found out that my remote IP may have changed with my changing of my internet connection.. I found the IP in offline messages.. Is that the the IP of my grid prior to my changing my internet connection if so.. How do I go about changing it in the database. It is flagged as read only... I think once I get this fixed then the everything will work... But I am unsure of how to fix this..

Thanks
Todd

So I have been looking at this error more closely.. Correct me if I am wrong.. But it debugs as checking the Internet IP Address of the OpenSim instance and then gives access if they match.. And the error I get is:

2013-02-15 15:11:46 No access for 192.168.XX.XX at line 570 in /var/www/components/com_opensim/interface.php

That is which is my ip of my internal network and not the IP of the internet adapter.. I have gone over the all the settings on my router and there is nothing to IP masquerade the proper IP.. So is there a work around for this? *grumbles about stupid routers*

Thanks

Okay I figured out the work around myself by looking at your code.. I am glad to see there is a work around for the ip check..

Thanks,
Todd

Hi Todd

Sorry for me delayed answer. I'm happy you could find a way to work around :) Be sure that the IP check has a good security reason ... like this it is ensured that jOpenSim will not give out any information to a destination, it does not belong to ;)

Usually, the best solution in most cases would be to change the value for ExternalHostName in your /bin/Regions/Regions.ini
