Maps is driving me nuts

12 years 9 months ago #1215 by SarahSays
Hello,

Since two days Im trying to get jopensim work. I have opensim running on Grid Mode.

But I have a problem ...

When I set the settings and when I click in backend on Maps then I get this :

__________________________________________________________________________
Could not connect to OpenSim Grid database! Please check your settings.
No regions found

MAPS

View maps as grid map
No Regions found for Maps!
Is the server offline?
Are the settings correct?
___________________________________________________________________________

I dont know what I am doing wrong, I have tried everything even did a fresh install of opensim.

When I go to <Url/IP>:9000/index.php?method=regionImage<UUID> then I see the map correctly.

I have 2 different databases, and I use the correct database and user at the settings, and I have tried each port ...

I do hope that somebody can help me, its driving me nuts LOL

Hi SarahSays,

and welcome to the forum :)

What is there if you click on the user management in the backend?

Strange I now for sure I have set the correct Databases.

Maybe I have problems with the port numbers or something

Is the database on a different server? In such a case, many times MySQL is not opened for accessing outside. This can have several reasons: the firewall, "bind 127.0.0.1" or "skip-networking" in my.cnf or if that all is ok, maybe a missing duplicated user for accessing from outside. E.g. if you have a user "opensim@localhost" in your , you need a "opensim@host-from-your-joomla" with (almost) the same rights for jOpenSim.

foto did helped me to solve this.

It was my fault , because the site and grid are on the same server, I did not used localhost ;-)
