Issue with Joomla 2.5

12 years 9 months ago #1203 by rjs
Hey there G,

I noticed that the latest version doesn't seem to work well with Joomla 2.5. It has issues with the permissions settings concerning components. For example, even if you set the back end to only allow "members" to view the OpenSim Registration Form, you can easily view it even when logged out. Pretty much goes for all the component's front end for users. Set for member access only, and can reach the pages via direct url regardless of what permissions settings you give it in the back end.

Just thought I would bring this up, could result in security issues as well. In Joomla 1.5, the JOpensim components, plugins, and modules followed the way Joomla was handling perms.

Thanks!

PS, also wanted to mention that the groups permissions are still not right. The best way to see how group perms are supposed to work would be to install the opensimulator flotsam xmlrpcgroups module. There are certain defaults that should be both allowed, and disallowed. When creating a group with the current JOpenSim groups module, you will notice when looking at the perm configuration that the defaults are set to allow pretty much "owner" perms for a regular group member. The regular group member's shouldn't have owner perms.

Hi rjs

Thanks for your reports. They are very qualified and very much appreciated (as always) ;)

Version 0.2.3 is almost out ... but I will have a closer look into it for 0.2.4 :)

Hello G,

Oh, your welcome. I didn't know if this was just on my end, so never hurts to bring up the issues seen.

Have a great week.
