jOpenSim Install problems!!! Is it still working?

7 years 4 weeks ago #2831 by Fredy
Yes, yes, yes...

I think Foto´s reply lead me in the right way. I changed in StandaloneCommon.ini:

;; For in-memory region storage (default)
-> ; StorageProvider = "OpenSim.Data.Null.dll:NullRegionData"
;;--- For MySql region storage (alternative)
to StorageProvider = "OpenSim.Data.MySQL.dll:MySqlRegionData"

Region tables are writen to the database now. Grid shows in Joomla 84 regions on the button, Map shows data and the webinterface shows data!

Thats it I think except I fall over something else :)

Thank you soo much foto and funcake!

Hi Fredy

Happy you're proceeding :)

Did you maybe use groups v2 or so before? If yes, there should be some tables in your opensim database like os_groups_groups, os_groups_invites, etc.

To handle groups with jOpenSim, it needs this data in the joomla database (in tables similar to jos_opensim_group, jos_opensim_groupinvite, etc.).

Let me know if this is the case. It should not be too difficult to create some query to migrate such data from there into jOpenSim tables since the structure is quite similar ;)

Hi Foto,

yes, I am using V2 Groups. I did see the table os_groups_groups. So I hope some data is there. Atm I also link the messaging to MySQL.dll storage. Maybe this will resolve some problems.

I do have other minor flaws in jOpenSim such as
-Groups search still not working
-Send a message to all regions, Get Opensim version (does not send/show anything)
- Map does not show in frontend

but they are not showstoppers anymore.

I did see there is a new jOpenSim version as of today. So I will install that over the current one and I suppose I could go from there.

I do also have a wishlist maybe for further version such as:

- TOS module (new users have to agree to a TOS while registering)
- Maybe some plain webtemplate to use, for example like Diva Wifi has it
- Golden Key to set unlimited regions for the money server, and not on a subscription base (I have almost 100 regions and would like to use the moneyserver everywhere) and I would rather just buy a full license later.

Thank you for now, I am sure I will hang in here :)

As of TOS, this can be integrated with Joomla's built in user profile plugin

There are already many Templates, free or paid, simple or complicated ...
What exactly do you think ?

Yes. There are tons of joomla templates, but nothing realy up and ready for OpenSim. Always alot of work to modify them. When they are fancy even more.

Wifi for example you have a plain set up. You just add/change colors, switch logos...

But basicaly you are right :)

Yes but on every Diva version you see that it is diva, joomla gives you the option to have your own touch of style

True! Thats the reason I wanted joomla cause a CMS is much more flexible.

Just installed 0.3.1.3 and it looks good! Even the cURL error is gone when I click on a single region and it displays the region map fine now. Great!

- Still having issues with search group (does not find groups in the adminpanel), but I can search groups inworld in the simulator and all is there.

- Still having also problems with the GridMap. It looks empty in the frontend. I am using Warp3DImageModule and HGWorldMap in the simulator (works fine in world).

Not sure what I am doing wrong.
